At the start of 2021, I set myself the goal of completing a new Gloomspite Gitz army. My intention was to put together a pair of 2,000 point armies; one of Troggs and one of Squigs. I managed to complete neither of these forces in 2021, getting distracted by Nurgle somewhere along the way. That’s fine. I just wasn’t as excited about the project as I’d hoped to be. It happens.
It was not until I was preparing for a tournament in July of 2022 that I really had the impetus to finish off the Troggs. I was able to finish them in time for the tournament. If I hadn’t, I’d have had to take Nurgle or Ironjawz and risk actually winning something. Cannae hae that, can we?
I’m currently on holiday, visiting family. I had always intended to do a bit of painting on this holiday. I was thinking about painting some Daemons, but at the last moment before leaving the house, I also grabbed my unfinished Squigs.
I’ve since spent a few days working on a couple of different projects. First, I built some more Daemons for my 40K Daemon army. I also did some kitbashing for my intended AoS Goblin Raceway army.
The main thing I’ve done though was to spend a couple of days trying to push on with the Squig Hers, Boingrot Bounders, and Mangler Squigs for my intended Squig list. Here’s the list, by the way:

Now, I’ve spent a bit of time finishing up the rest of the army. What I don’t have with me is a lightbox, so you’ll see the pictures of these newly-painted minis when I get home and am able to touch up any bits I needs to fix and then get some photos done. In the meantime, here are some Squigs:
It’s cool to have doubled back and fulfilled this goal, even if it’s a wee bit late. There are a couple of goals for this year that I’m not going to accomplish, so it feels good to at least close the book on this one.
I’m really looking forward to sharing more pictures from the models I’ve been working on once I’m home and have time to take some pictures.
