It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases new Warcry boxed set, Nightmare Quest – More Warcry! Im a wee bit disappointed that Warcry is now following the same release pattern as Kill Tean, where it’s just big boxed set after big boxed set. At least the contents are really cool, though.

The Stormcast are cool, but it’s the ghouls of the Flesh-Eater Courts that steal the show. This is an army that is desperately in need of some updates and it’s great to see them get some fresh, new minis.

Chaosium releases their Rivers of London RPG – I hopefully have a game of this coming up in a few months. A friend picked it up and is kee nto run it, though they won’t have the opportunity for a wee while. I did take a look and although it looks like a Call of Cthulhu book, it does have its own bespoke system.

Looking into the RPG, mainly based on my friend’s enthusiasm, has piqued my interest in the book series on which it is based. I’ve picked up the first book and need to give it a read. Let’s see what all the fuss is about!

Apex Legends board game makes its way to Kickstarter – I’ve never heard of Glass Cannon, but I see their previous Kickstarter project was for another video games adaptation, Frostpunk. They seem to have an oeuvre. I always worry when I see a company like this that we have another shovelware-peddler, like Steamforged, but their two titles thus far are quite different from one another and seem genuinely interesting. This time they’re adapting Apex Legends.

I’ve not played this video game, but I was getting told by some kids this week that I should. I’ll give it a go at some point, as I do like a colourful, team-based shooter. Overwatch has slid out of my rotation, so I should give this a go. The board game looks quite interesting as well. The minis are lovely! Yeah, I might take a closer look next week.
NoRerolls releases The Call to Adventure, a 5E adventure module – The latest of our own offerings, The Call to Adventure is the first in what will hopefully be a wee series of 5E adventures. It’s also the biggest item we’ve put out thus far, and by far the prettiest.

I posted about this release earlier in the week. It was fun putting this together – especially creating the statblocks for a couple of NPCs – and I’m keen to see what I can put together for the next one.

Clank! Legacy 2 currently up on Kickstarter – I like the idea of legacy games, but the games that are generally used for these titles are not games that I find myself super-excited to play over and over and over and over. Clank would fall firmly into this description.

Clank is fun though. The Penny Arcade input is also great, as I’ve long been a fan of their work. I also know some folk who have recently done a campaign of the original Clank! Legacy and they had a great time. I just don’t know that this one’s for me.
Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
May Half Way @ Stevo’s Soldiers – All of this looks great, but the highlight is the Warmaster army. The more of these that I see, the more tempted I am to jump in. As usual, the only really thing stopping me – other than the usual lethargy – is the lack of opponents locally. Gorgeous work on those elves!.
New 3D Printed Goodies (2) @ A Loft Full of Lead – Oh, this is timely. I actually forgot that I’d backed this Kickstarter! These are some nice, clean prints. I should try to get some of mine printed up. Looking forward to seeing what this blogger does with his minis. Turnip28 continues to really interest me.
The IRO studio part one @ Imperial Rebel Ork – I really like the IRO blog, and I’m excited to see how the studio/hobby space turns out. I keen meaning to sort mine out a bit more… and then I don’t. Crack on, lad!
Yes, They Are On Crack @ Plastic Craic – This was last night’s game for me. God damn, those Thunderers really put out the damage. And with so many individual guns, it takes so long. That sort of prolonged pain needs to come at a higher points-cost!
Top Three AOS Lists for CTC Age of Sigmar Championship Open @ Woehammer – An interesting top 3, this one. I always like it when there are armies I actually care about being discussed. In this case, I was very interested to read the Flesh-Eater list, the Sons of Behemat, and the Ironjawz. I’m particularly interested in working out what to do with my half-finished Flesh Eaters, so will have to think about this one. Then again, book soon? Maybe? Hopefully?

Since my last 5 on Friday, here’s what’s appeared on NoRerolls:
- A post on a wee contest between some blogs
- An Iron Kingdoms-themed Bundle of Holding
- An adventure wot I done put out
- Some thoughts on my progress on my Tzeentch army
- Ode to a Chaos Spawn
- A Throwback Thursday about bland and uninspired shovelware.
More progress on minis would be nice this week. I’m at 6 completed minis so far this month. let’s at least double that!
Catch y’all soon!
Edit: Oh, hey, 250! Woo and/or yay!
