5 on Friday 11/07/25

It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.

Releases & Previews

Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dmystates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:

Games Workshop releases a new Space Wolves codex supplement – The Space Wolves aren’t an army I’ve ever really gone for, but I must admit that the new releases for the army are actually really cool. They’re getting an update alongside their new codex:

From edition to edition, the various Space Marine factions seem to swing back and forth between getting individual chapter codices or supplements that work alongside a core Space Marines codex. This edition is back to supplements. I do like the new Space Wolves minis; they’ve got a lot of character and are really set apart from the core Space Marines range. Hopefully the rules will do the new minis justice.

Book of Courts supplement for Changeling: the Lost now released on Storyteller’s Vault and DTRPG – Changeling: the Lost is dark. The titular changelings are essentially abuse survivors who have suffered at the hands of the fae. It’s a beautifully dark game that is definitely not for everyone. Here’s an interesting new supplement:

First of all, this is a gorgeous cover which fits the game perfectly. The book focuses on the seasonal courts, but then includes alternatives, too. Of course, it’s got all the various rules and options you’d want to go alongside the background as well!

Corvus Belli releases Syenann Officers for Warcrow – I’ve not been watching Warcrow that closely, so I wasn’t aware that Corvus Belli had moved beyond the initial two factions. These wood elf-lookin’ dudes are sweet:

It’s great to see the game growing. I think I still prefer the other two factions, but that doesn’t diminish how cool these elves are. And if I am complimenting elves, you know they must be good!

Dotted Games to release a new Lego party game, Brick Like This! – There have been Lego games in the past, but they weren’t great. Now, with Asmodee’s Dotted Games studio, another attempt is being made to bring Lego into the board gaming space. This title is a party game:

It’s like that classic game where one player in each team takes the pen and has to draw something based on their teammates’ instructions. Except, you know, in Lego. It’ll be fun, and pretty accessible for kids.

Wizards of the Coast is taking preorders for Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, a supplement for D&D – Eberron is one of my favourite D&D settings. I remember picking up the original Eberron book, and then subsequently got back into it in 5E, running games in the setting for kids. Now, in whatever they’re calling this cynical edition, there’s a new Eberron book:

The book is a little on the short side, at 122 pages, but the content sounds good. There are new subclasses (mostly reimagined ones) and a bunch of revised species, along with new backgrounds and feats. It promises campaign frameworks. I assume those are hooks and suggestions, rather than plotted out adventures? Glad to see Eberron get some love early in the new edition!

Blog Posts & Articles

The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:

Burrows & Badgers: The Rogues @ Wyrd Stones and Tackle Zones More fantastic Burrows & Badgers minis. I previously looked at this writer’s Necromancer and ghosts, and it’s great to see some sneaky rogues added to the crew. Fantastic!

New to Me – June 2025 @ Dude! Take Your Turn! Final Girl is a game I’ve seen a lot, but never really taken on. I’m just not a solo player, I guess. After Us was pushed heavily last year, but it just didn’t really grab me. Skara Brae looks interesting. I’m a big fan of every game I’ve played from Garphill Games, and it has some local flavour; I can see Orkney from my window at work.

Android Netrunner: the Reboot project @ Spalanz Netrunner is such a good game. I need to get it back out. I love the back and forth of it, and the asymmetrical nature of the game. The reboot project sounds interesting.

“Danger has found us.” – Guardian Defenders @ Twitchy Bristles At first glance, I loved these minis because I do love white armour and admire anyone who can do it well. Looking closer and seeing that these are Eldar-themed Genestealer Cultists made me love them even more!

How To Find Paint Scheme Inspiration For Your Miniatures @ Handful of Dice A fun list post. It looks at lots of different places to find inspiration for colour schemes for your armies, or even just individual miniatures. A good read.

There have been a few posts since my last 5 on Friday:

We got 3 additional miniatures finished this week. This brings our totals for the year so far to:

Purchased: 36
Painted: 92

Catch you next week!

  1. I think it’s so cool that you’re near Orkney!

I’ve only been able to play Skara Brae once because one of our regular Sunday gamers just really didn’t like it. Maybe I’ll force him to play it again soon. 🙂

I’m not sure what I think, so I need more plays.

  2. Thanks for the shoutout! My Genestealer elves have turned into a surprise “forever” army for me and I’m looking forward to sharing the rest of the batch.
