It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases a new Core Set for Warhammer: The Old World – Whilst I don’t see myself playing The Old World for a multitude of reasons, this is definitely a nice starter set:

Well, I say it’s nice, and, yeah, it’s cool and flavourful, and with nice minis… but there’s not actually all that much in it. 16 Warriors, 4 Knights and a couple of characters does not a convincing starter Chaos army make. Still, the value isn’t bad if you collect both factions or can split with a friend.

Arc Dream Publishing releases Holy War, a scenario book for Delta Green – Given how much I enjoy Call of Cthulhu and horror games in general, Delta Green is an RPG I’d like to try. This latest scenario supplement makes for interesting reading.

Holy War jumps into the immediate aftermath of 9/11 and the beginnings of the War on Terror. It compounds these shadows with supernatural elements, ritualistic killings, and more. It seems an interesting scenario and includes handouts for players, too.

Anxious Mimic RPGs releases Girl Frame – This PbtA game is all about lesbian mech pilots in half-living suits hunting down eldritch creatures. Okay, I’ll bite.

As is typical for PbtA titles, the game includes a bunch of playbooks for player characters, as well for mechs and handlers. This seems like quite a range of different roles and options. The games seems pretty layered, and inspired by classic animes like neon Genesis Evangelion, the various Gundam series, and games like Armoured Core. It all seems very cool.

The Op Games releases the board game, Oasis: New Life on a Distant World – This game mostly caught my attention because of the vibrant, colourful art. Let’s take a look:

So, first of all, the art is absolutely gorgeous throughout this game. The card art is glorious and vibrant and cool. The game itself seems interesting. The offering mechanic seems interesting, though I’m not convinced as to the blind bidding. There’s some semi-aggressive interaction with tile placement blocking. I’m not sure if the game’s for me, but it’s certainly pretty.

Devir releases their new board game, Gaudi – Gaudí turns the architect’s visionary style into a thoughtful, three‑pillar puzzle where players balance Nature, Catalonia, and Religion while crafting trencadís mosaics and climbing chimneys on their personal boards. Movement around the central chandelier drives every choice, making each round a tight dance of card play, tile selection, and careful scoring.

With its blend of pattern‑building, card timing, and a clever “lowest two scores count” system, Gaudí rewards harmony over excess as you shape your own mosaic of influences across three rounds. It’s a beautifully thematic design that aims to capture the spirit of Gaudí’s work.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Hidden Jungle Horror – Final Girl – The Green Terror Review @ Dude! Take Your Turn! – Final Girl is one of those titles that I’ve been aware of, tangentially, but never really taken a close look at. Reviews like this do grab my interest, though. I like the tropes of horror and horror-based gameplay. I should probably take a look.
40k2ndAC VII Month 5 Wave 1 @ The Wachtmeister’s Patrol – A fun challenge, this one. There are so many cool miniatures in here. Some highlights for me are the Shadow Seer, Gideon on his bike, the Dark Angel Assault Squad with their red and white patterns, and Fuegan.
Book Review: “Live from the Succubus Club” @ Nephthys Nile – This is one that I need to pick up. I love the Succubus Club. It’s such a key part of the most iconic VTM setting, Chicago. This is a fun, little review that outlines the contents of the book.
Smaug, Scene Boxes and Standard: Everything We Know About MTG’s The Hobbit @ Quest Daily – I’m playing a lot of Magic at the moment, but I’m not really following it online all that much. It’s good to find posts like these that act as a little digest or summary of what’s going on with a particular set.
Wazdakka Gutsmek @ Grumpy Old Orc – I love this mini! It’s so cool and dynamic. The pain job is nice, as well. The classic red (goes fasta!) really pops, and makes the green of the Ork flesh pop, too. Great job!
