It’s Friday, and here on No Rerolls that means it’s time for an all-new 5 on Friday. We’re going to start with 5 exciting releases for this week before moving on to our usual digest of some of our favourite articles from the past week. Of course, we’re slow readers, so don’t be surprised if there are some articles that are a little older – these are just some of the great articles we happen to have actually read in the past week.
Releases & Previews
Every week there are many games, books, and miniatures released. This will probably be a mix of previews, preorders, and releases, and with release dates being the way they are in this industry, it’s always pretty approximate. Excuses out of the way, here are 5 of the releases that caught our attention this week:
Games Workshop releases an army set for the Age of Sigmar army, the Khazalite Holds – A new army for Age of Sigmar has arrived. The Khazalite Holds looks be a fun addition, though they do appear a bit “traditional fantasy” rather than the more distinctive AoS feel:

Still, there are some nice minis. I love the character with the red braids. She looks fantastic. I’m curious about how they’re going to fill out the wider army. .

Onyx Path releases a compact edition of their RPG, Curseborne – Cursebone is an RPG from Onyx Path. This publisher is putting out a few new games at the moment. It makes sense, as they have previously been known for their World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness books. The approval process for these titles seems to have dried up and Onyx Path looks to be pivoting to more original works.

This definitely fits into their Chronicles of Darkness vibe. The description feels like a more modern update of the old core New World (now Chronicles) of Darkness book. I always liked the idea of that book, with the regular humans facing off against a world of horrors, mysteries, and cryptids. This specific version is a compact edition of the game.

Incredible Dream Studios releases a new edition of Mechs vs. Minions – Mechs vs. Minions was a big box release from Riot Games back in 2016. It was a beautiful game, with fantastic miniatures, and based on their League of Legends MOBA game. Now, they’ve licensed it out for re-release. There will be a full edition that captures the big box experience of the original, and there’s also this smaller, more affordable Badle City Edition:

Set in League of Legends’ Runeterra setting, the game is cooperative and let’s you play as one of for classic League of Legends characters. Of the available characters, Ziggs is the one I enjoyed the most in the video game, so I would probably try him first in this game. Bombs away, yo!

Catalyst releases the core rulebook for Shadowrun: Anarchy 2.0 – Shadowrun: Anarchy is a rules-light, story-focused tabletop roleplaying game that uses the classic cyberpunk-fantasy setting of the Sixth World while replacing the famously heavy and complex rules of main-edition Shadowrun with a streamlined alternative.

This new and updated version, Shadowrun Anarchy 2.0, offers an even leaner update with modern streamlined mechanics like risk dice and updated legwork rules. It’s worth a look if you’ve been interested in Shadowrun but put off by the bloat.

The Op Games to release a Nightmare Before Christmas edition of Flip 7 – Flip 7 is doing gangbusters. We’re seeing lots of game shops say that they’re selling lots of copies of this little card game. I actually grabbed a copy when I was south last week, but I’ve not gotten around to playing it yet. I should remedy that. It does look, however, that this is the latest game to be given the shovelware treatment by The Op:

A Nightmare Before Christmas edition? How up to date and topical! I kid, of course. It’s a perennial favourite movie. I just don’t think it will end here and we’re going to see a huge number of reskins of a game that, beyond some splashes of art, is not exactly dripping in theme.

Blog Posts & Articles
The meat of 5 on Friday, the articles are listed in no particular order, so let’s get into some recommendations:
Flamecraft Duals @ What’s Eric Playing? – I’ve not played Flamecraft, but it’s a favourite among several folk at club. This smaller edition is the latest example of an ongoing trend for taking existing games and putting out versions optimised for 2 players. The review sells it well, focusing in on the beautiful production and the tighter gameplay, even if it will be a tad abstract for some potential players.
Khazalite Holds Clanshields Alternative Colour Schemes and Contrast Recipe Cards @ Vincent Knotley — How Knot To Paint – Vincent Knotley is excellent, as always. Here are a bunch of nice, simple colour schemes to try on your new Dorfs!
My Favorite Wargame Cards – A Look at Individual Cards from My Favorite Games – Card #99: Truman Doctrine from Twilight Struggle: The Cold War, 1945-1989 from GMT Games @ The Players’ Aid – This has always been an incredibly specific series, focusing on one card at a time from one game at a time. This time, it’s covering a card from my beloved Twilight Struggle that I really love as well. Just being able to scramble the USSR influence off a European country is really important.
Khazalite Holds Army Set and Battletome Review – Warhammer Age of Sigmar @ Sprues & Brews – I’m not 100% sold on some of the army rules, but it sounds fun. I have mixed feelings about the Fyreslayers being folded in, which the review acknowledges.
Warhammer 40k Battleforce Boxes 2026 @ Woehammer – Just a good breakdown of the announced Christmas boxes for 40K. Useful. Now let’s see what AoS is getting!
