Sandstone Necrons: Phase 1 (Warhammer 40,000)

As described in a previous article, I have been working away on the Necron half of the Indomitus set.  It’s been a lot of fun, and this is the best I’ve done with actually buckling down and getting some painting done in a very long time.  It also starts me on the journey to the 100 painted miniatures I had set as my target for the year.  The 37 miniatures in this set brings my total for the year so far to… 37!

The Canoptek Reanimator is the only one that is not quite finished.  I have left the Space marines bits on the base unpainted and will go back and paint them once I’ve decided on a colour scheme for my Indomitus Space Marines.  Just for that synergy, y’know?

Pleased with the results and, once I’ve broken things up by painting something else, I have a second Indomitus set to break into to further reinforce my Necrons.

  1. Wow, they look terrific. That is some pretty quick work too since the box was only recently released. I especially like the way you’ve put some of the basing tufts on the Warriors.
